I have decided to hold an art contest for my upcoming novel’s (The Madhouse Experiment: The Florence Case) cover design. The contest winner will receive a $200 prize (a sum I hope to be able to increase in the future), and their design will be used as the novel’s cover. The four best runners-up will receive the novel for free when it is published.
The contest will take place only if enough people are interested and participate. The fate of this contest will be decided by the number of comments on this post, so if you are interested, leave a comment! If enough people are interested, as I get closer to finishing the novel (around 80% done), I will provide a form for everyone who wants to participate to complete, along with the design requirements. I will post an announcement on my socials and on this website if this contest moves forward, so stay tuned! (If you are subscribed to my email list, you will receive a notification!) Don’t be shy to invite friends and relatives!
If you are interested in participating, please read these few clarifications:
- There will be no quality criteria that will determine the winner or the best runner-ups. I will decide who wins based on my personal preferences. Of course, anything, even in part, made with AI will be automatically disqualified.
- By participating in this contest, you agree that if you win the contest and win the $200 prize, your cover design can and will be used commercially by me.
- Because nowadays AI-generated content has become difficult to spot, if you want to win, you will have to send me at least a couple images or a video, of the illustration in its first stages (concept sketches, before coloring, etc.) This, of course, is not a bulletproof way to authenticate the illustration is made by a human, but it is better than nothing. You can send me the images/video and final design via email, or my socials, which can be found in this website.
- More clarifications might be added if the contest moves forward.
